Employment generation through Dhaba/ Fast food/ Restaurant training scheme.

Introduction:

There is significant improvement in food in rural and urban areas with demands of increasing population in present times. Working hours are increasing and demand for nutritious refreshment/food in less time is also increasing day-by-day with general populace due to which people have to go to restaurant to take food. In view of the increasing trend of fast food in urban and rural areas, dhaba/fast food/restaurant training program is being run for interested people. With this type of training, interested people can learn to prepare clean and quality food or they may start a dhaba fast food restaurant with little investment. This way people can generate income and earn a livelihood.

Objectives:

The objectives of the scheme are as follows:

  • To provide clean and healthy food to people in view of demand of masses.
  • To provide nutritious refreshment.
  • To encourage unemployed youth to start dhaba/fast food/restaurant with little capital investment.

Area of the scheme:

49 selected districts of the state. Lucknow, Bareilly, Badaun, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Baghpat, Bulandshahar, Gautambuddhanagar, Ghaziabad, hapur, Moradabad, Rampur, Amroha, Bijnore, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Orai, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Auraiya, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Basti, Faizabad, Sultanpur, Amethi, Barabanki, Ambedkarnagar, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Mathura. Eligibility under the scheme: The program under the scheme would be publicized through popular daily newspapers/banner/poster etc. and deserving candidates will be selected. Reservation in the scheme will be ensured as per directions of the government.

Application procedure:

Interested individuals should apply on the given format – Form ‘B’ (Annexure – 3) and submit it with relevant documents/affidavit to the Principal, Government Food Science Training Center/Food Processing Officer/Fruit Preservation Officer in the respective division. Admission related advertisement will be uploaded on the departmental website www.horticulture.up.in. In case of reserved category candidates being not available, besides repeat advertisement, online applications will be invited again and the selection procedure will be conducted as per rules.

Selection procedure:

Selection will be made on first come-first serve basis after listing of application forms.

Periodical progress:

A total of 50 programs were conducted during 2015-16 under this scheme and 1500 candidates were imparted training. List of trained candidates are given in the annexure – 4.

Annual target for 2016-17:

Directorate, Horticulture and Food Processing, Lucknow vide letter number 143-149/publicity/planned target allocation/2016-17 dated 26 April 2016 has sent the annual target under the scheme to concerned divisional officials. Details of district/division - wise physical targets for 2016-17 are attached herewith.
