Entrepreneurship Development Training Program/Entrepreneurship Development Program (S.C.P. Scheme)
Introduction:
In view of possibility and potential of increase in entrepreneurship development in food processing sector in the state; the unemployed youths are to be given training in food processing and encouraged for setting-up industry under this program so that they have a source of income besides generating additional employment.
Objectives:
The objectives of the scheme are as follows:
- To protect agricultural and horticultural products from.
- To reduce post-harvest losses.
- To help farmers get fair price of their produce.
- To provide employment to general masses through food processing.
Area of the scheme:
- Entrepreneurship development training program (general) – 31 districts. Lucknow, Lakhimpur, Raebareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Baghpat, Gautam Buddhnagar, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Rampur, Amroha, Bijnore, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Kanpur, Etawah, Kannauj, Bhadohi, Mau, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Basti, Faizabad, Sultanpur, Gonda, Firozabad, Mathura, Hathras.
- Entrepreneurship development training program (S.C.P. scheme) – 17 districts. Sitapur, Badaun, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Saharanpur, Mujaffarnagar, Banda, Allahabad, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Farrukhabad, Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Ballia, Siddharthnagar, Manipuri, Aligarh.
Eligibility under the scheme:
The trainee must be of minimum of 18 years of age and have minimum educational qualification of high school pass for admission into the training program. State government’s reservation policy/government order will be followed for selection of the trainees.
Application procedure:
Interested individuals should apply on the given format – Form ‘A’ (Annexure – 1) and submit it with relevant documents/affidavit to the Principal, Government Food Science Training Center/Food Processing Officer/Fruit Preservation Officer in the respective division. Admission related advertisement will be uploaded on the departmental website www.horticulture.up.in. In case of reserved category candidates being not available, besides repeat advertisement, online applications will be invited again and the selection procedure will be conducted as per rules.
Selection procedure:
After submission of applications, trainees will be selected on merit on the basis of total marks secured in high school examination. In event of large number of applications, a written test will be conducted and selection would be made on the basis of total marks secured in the test.
Number of trainees:
30 trainees per program.
Duration of training:
100 days (3 hours per day).
Training fees:
Training fees of Rs 300.00 will be charged from each selected trainee. The collected money will be deposited in the treasury.
Periodical progress:
A total of 46 programs were conducted during 2015-16 under this scheme and 1380 trainees were imparted training. List of trained candidates are given in the annexure – 2.
Annual target for 2016-17:
Annual target under the scheme by Directorate, Horticulture and Food Processing, Lucknow vide letter number 143-149/publicity/planned target allocation/2016-17 dated 26 April 2016 is sent to concerned divisional officials. Details of district/division - wise physical targets for 2016-17 are attached herewith.
